Physical violence (coercion) falls into two broad categories of destruction, physically violent actions around your partner and physical violence to your partner's body.

- Kicking something
- Slapping your hand or fist on the table, keyboard, etc.
- Driving recklessly (when your partner is with you or watching you drive)
- Tearing out the phone
- Slamming the door
- Punching or kicking a hole in the door, wall, etc.
- Tearing the door off the hinges
- Strutting and posturing
- Stomping out
- ”Mean mugging“, glaring at your partner

- Restricting your partner's physical movements; such as sitting her down
- Prohibiting your partner's social contact; for example, locking her in the house
- Pushing your partner
- Carrying your partner
- Restraining your partner
- Grabbing your partner
- Shoving your partner
- Wrestling your partner
- Slapping your partner
- Spanking your partner
- Biting your partner
- Scratching your partner
- Throwing your partner bodily
- Punching your partner
- Choking your partner
- Strangling your partner
- Physically forcing sex on your partner
