How does the program work?
The program consists of 3 Stages; the 1st and 2nd Stage are each 16 weeks long. The 3rd Stage is 20 weeks long, completing a 52-week program. For those needing a 12, 16, or 24-week program, please contact us here.
Stage 1 is designed to provide the information that underpins the learned behaviors and beliefs which drive men’s behaviors. Young boys and men have been taught to ignore their feelings, act and think a certain way and essentially play a role of the "man', living up to the 3 P‘s:
This is a role or image men are taught to play, and when their role is challenged, men have learned to use emotional, verbal and physical controlling, abusive and violent behaviors to re-establish their dominant role in the relationship. This role is called the ”Hitman" – the mental characterization the man creates in his mind to enforce his belief system and carry out his controlling behavior to re-substantiate or re-establish his image of being a "man'.
The goal of the Stage 1 is for the man to stop his physical violence to and around their partners and family for the last 8 consecutive weeks of a minimum 16-week session.
Stage 2 provides information of the authentic self behind the man's image and the process of cooperative communication, validation, and continued accountability. The goal of the 2nd stage is to stop verbal Violence to and around their partners and family for the last 8 consecutive weeks of a minimum 16-week session. This is in addition to the continuation of no further physical violence to or around their family.
Stage 3 builds upon Stage's 1 and 2 by the continued practice of accountability and no further physical and verbal violence during the next 16 weeks of the program. The man will create and implement a fulfillment plan to cooperatively and systematically address issues that provide opportunities for challenging the man’s beliefs which previously would have resulted in angry and controlling behaviors.
